Introduction
The Cahoots Workshop is a community space built on shared values of empowerment, feminism, and queer pride. This policy outlines the expected behaviours and attitudes that ensure a positive and productive environment and uphold the spirit of the Cahoots community.
Shared Values and Expected Behaviours
- Treat all members, staff, and visitors with respect
- Actively contribute to an inclusive environment that uplifts women and gender minorities in alignment with our Gender Policy and the values of feminism and queer pride. Towards this, we:
- Seek to understand diverse perspectives
- Challenge stereotypes and biases, fostering a space of mutual understanding
- Create a supportive atmosphere where members feel comfortable asking for help and offering advice
- Share knowledge and assist fellow members where appropriate
- Collaborate on projects and ideas, recognising the strength in diverse perspectives and collective action
- Practice accountability by being responsible for your actions and their impact
- Embrace opportunities to learn and improve
- Be open to constructive feedback from staff and other members
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in workshop practices and shared knowledge
- Communicate respectfully and constructively with others
- Address concerns or conflicts through appropriate channels and in a timely manner, engaging Cahoots staff as necessary
- Provide feedback to Cahoots staff to help improve the workshop experience
Unacceptable Behaviours
The following behaviours are considered unacceptable in the Cahoots Workshop and Cahoots staff may take action in response to them.
- Discrimination, harassment, or bullying
- Disregarding safety protocols or using tools/equipment recklessly
- Intentional damage to property, tools, or equipment
- Theft of property belonging to Cahoots or other members
- Unauthorised entry or sharing of access codes
- Persistent failure to clean up workspaces or return tools
- Any behaviour that significantly disrupts the positive and productive environment of the workshop
