Drill
- Drilling holes in wood, plastic, and metal
- Driving screws when you want torque control (using the clutch)
Impact driver
- Driving long/large screws and bolts with high torque
- Uses rotation + concussive impacts
- Not suitable for precision drilling
Limitations
- There are many bit types — follow manufacturer guidance for specific bits and materials
- Dull/damaged bits are hazardous and can damage the tool and workpiece
